The State University of Moldova announces the launch of the call for participation in the Summer School dedicated to the civic engagement of young people and the development of local community projects. The programme will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2026, over a period of three days. The programme is designed as an interactive educational space aimed at strengthening the role of young people in promoting active citizenship as a strategic priority in the European integration process. In the current context of candidate states for accession to the European Union, youth involvement in community life represents an important element in strengthening democracy, civic participation, and social responsibility. The Summer School is addressed to young people aged 18 to 25 from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine — pupils, students, or civically active young people — who show an interest in the values of the European Union, democratic participation, and the development of community initiatives. Participants must be available for the entire duration of the programme. The application process is based on a practical model focused on developing critical thinking and civic initiative. Candidates are invited to identify four relevant community problems in their locality that can be solved
through youth involvement. These problems will be analysed and ranked according to urgency, social impact, the number of people affected, and the possibility of civic intervention. The problem considered to be a priority will be described in a structured manner, highlighting its causes, consequences, affected groups, the role young people can play in solving it, as well as its connection to the European values of democracy, solidarity, and inclusion. Based on this analysis, each candidate will develop a mini community project of no more than two pages, which
should include clear objectives, concrete activities that can be carried out by young people, possible local partnerships, and the estimated impact on the community. Over the course of the three days, selected participants will take part in interactive workshops, training sessions, debates, and teamwork activities within international teams. The programme includes mentoring for project development, strengthening civic leadership skills, and facilitating intercultural dialogue among young people from candidate and associated states of the European Union.
